Beth Winstead joined McMahan Winstead & Richardson in 1996 after building an extensive career in Tennessee government and public service. After leaving her law practice in 1986, she held a number of positions in the Tennessee Governor's Office and later served in various leadership roles with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Her experience across state government gave her a deep understanding of the people, processes, and relationships that shape public policy in Tennessee.
Beth's legislative career includes serving as Assistant Chief Clerk for the Tennessee House of Representatives before becoming the chief lobbyist for Metro Nashville/Davidson County. During her time representing Metro, Nashville experienced a period of significant growth and transformation, including the addition of professional sports teams and the revitalization of downtown Nashville. She brings decades of experience navigating state and local government and has earned a reputation for her strong relationships and highly respected lobbying skills across the Tennessee General Assembly. Beth is known for her enduring relationships on both sides of the aisle and her ability to effectively advocate for clients in an ever-changing political environment.
A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, Beth is a member of the American Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association and is a founding member of the Tennessee Lobbyists Association. She remains active in her community through her involvement with the Rotary Club of Downtown Franklin and the Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts Council Executive Committee.
