Anna M. Richardson joined McMahan Winstead & Richardson in 2011. Richardson is a licensed attorney with a degree from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. Anna was first introduced to the Tennessee General Assembly in 2003 when she served as an intern in the office of Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris. Her internship experience prompted an addiction to the legislative process which resulted in a perpetual desire to return to the push and pull of Capitol Hill.

Anna M. Richardson joined the firm in 2011 and became a partner in McMahan Winstead & Richardson in 2018. Richardson is a licensed attorney with a degree from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. Anna was first introduced to the Tennessee General Assembly in 2003 when she served as an intern in the office of the Senate Majority Leader.

Anna promptly returned to Capitol Hill after completing law school in 2008. She served as a member of the Senate staff for the Tennessee General Assembly, where she most notably held the position of Executive Assistant for Policy and Research in the office of the Senate Speaker Pro Tempore. She also served as the Research Analyst for the Senate Commerce, Labor and Agriculture Committee.

As a member of the Senate staff, Anna made significant contributions to a plethora of substantial pieces of legislation pertaining to Telecommunications, Workers Compensation and Insurance Regulation, to name a few. In her role as the Executive Assistant for Policy and Research she worked on an array of significant education policy reform initiatives, including revisions to Tennessee’s charter school laws and tenure reform.

During law school, Anna held multiple leadership positions. Anna was a member of the Editorial Board of the Tennessee Journal of Practice and Procedure. She also served as the President of Phi Alpha Delta, McKellar Chapter and was also awarded an academic scholarship for her work as a Research Assistant, where she focused on Copyright law, Products Liability and Worker’s Compensation. She is the author of Informed Patients go Homeo Happy: Applying the Doctrine of Informed Consent to Homeopathic Practitioners, 34 Ohio N.U. L. Rev 593 (2008).

Anna has previously served on the Board of Directors of Strive Collegiate Academy in Nashville as well as the Mid-South Chapter of the Lupus of Foundation of America.
