Andrea Bennett-Punke

Andrea R. Bennett-Punke joined McMahan Winstead & Richardson in January 2018. Andrea developed a passion for state government while participating in the Tennessee Legislative Internship Program during her senior year of college. As an intern, Andrea worked for the Chief Clerk of the Senate and was later hired as a full-time staff member, serving as Legislative Assistant to Senator John Stevens.

Andrea is originally from Winchester, Tennessee. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee in 2013. During her time at UT, Andrea held leadership positions in the UT Student Government Association and served as President of the American Cancer Society’s UT Relay for Life Planning Committee. She also regularly participated in fundraising projects for March of Dimes and Reading is Fundamental.

Andrea is a licensed attorney, graduating with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2017. While in law school, she served on the editorial board of the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy, volunteered with UT Pro-Bono, and represented clients as a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic.

She serves on the University of Tennessee Southern Middle Tennessee Alumni Association Board and the Tennessee Lobbyists Association Board.  She is also an active member of Rutherford Cable and Murfreesboro Young Professionals.
